Thurlow Nunn preview: Coggeshall Town have a chance to close gap on leaders Felixstowe & Walton
This could be a big weekend for several of the top clubs, and for some at the wrong end of the table.
Leaders Felixstowe & Walton are without a fixture and could see their 15-point lead reduced to 12 unless Ipswich Wanderers can pull off another shock at Humber Doucy Lane when they host Coggeshall Town.
Wanderers won 1-0 at the Doucy when they hosted the Seasiders, and another shock result against the side second in the table would do their survival hopes no harm either.
They will have a huge task against a side in top form and the visitors know they will have to be wary of complacency.
Third-placed Stowmarket host mid-table Saffron Walden, whose recent form has been erratic.
Stowmarket, currently on an eight-match winning run, have scored 26 goals in their five straight wins since Christmas, and Walden will have to be at their very best if they are to take anything from the game and halt free-scoring Josh Mayhew from adding to his already formidable 42 goal tally.
Brantham slipped down to fourth after losing at home last week, with their visitors Histon leapfrogging them into third to mount their own promotion challenge.
The Blue Imps travel to Newmarket, whose artificial surface should suit their style of play but the home side will be smarting from a couple of defeats and could provide a tough afternoon for their visitors.
Hadleigh host Gorleston and will be looking to continue the kind of form that has seen them pick up some vital points in their last couple of games – three points could lift them out of the bottom four.
Their record is identical to Haverhill Borough, who play tomorrow night at Stanway, while Long Melford host Histon, hoping they can pull off another surprise result against one of the top sides.
Walsham-le-Willows travel to basement side Wivenhoe, looking to halt a run of four straight league defeats that has produced just one goal while conceding 11, although they are well clear of the relegation battle just below them.
