The A140 has reopened in Suffolk after a three vehicle crash this afternoon left traffic at a standstill.
Suffolk police were called to reports of an accident on the A140 at Mendlesham at around 2pm.
A police spokesman said an ambulance had been called to treat the casualties, whose injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Debris from the vehicles had been strewn across the road leaving traffic at a standstill for more than 90 minutes.
Suffolk police said the A140 had reopened in both directions and recovery arranged for the vehicles by 3.45pm.
The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust sent three ambulance crews to the scene.
“They treated a woman with chest pain and a man with pelvis injury,” a spokesman added.
“Both were taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.
“Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.”
