A community has come together to help plant 12 trees in their street.

Residents from Chilton Avenue, Stowmarket, helped raise hundreds of pounds for the project. Funds also came from Suffolk County councillor, Stephen Searle – with Mid Suffolk District Council providing staff to help plant the trees.

Lorraine Baker, chairman of the Chilton Avenue Tree Fund, said the trees were the first to be planted since the 1930s.
