Youths who reportedly chased sheep on their off-road bikes on a Suffolk farm have been given warnings by police.
Officers from Suffolk Constabulary’s Rural Crime Team Tweeted that they had seized the bikes beloning to two young people in Stowmarket on Friday, September 14.
They said the bikes were seized for having no insurance after reports were made to officers of anti-social behaviour.
The officers Tweeted on Saturday: “Riders also reported for traffic offence and given Section 59 warnings. Bikes had been used to chase sheep on local farm.”
Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 gives police the power to seize a vehicle if it is “causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public”.
