Egg and spoon races, alongside the traditional Easter egg hunt, are a classic activity enjoyed at this time of year, as these photos from days gone by show.
Almost every Easter, town and village greens have been alive with families cheering on the egg and spoon race runners.
Pictures from our archives show races and egg throwing competitions held over the decades in Great Finborough, Southwold and East Wetherden.
Sadly, there will be no mass gatherings throughout Suffolk this Easter for the second year running as coronavirus restrictions prevent organised meet-ups.
The first coronavirus lockdown was introduced on March 23 last year, putting a dampener on the Easter celebrations.
This year the restrictions are slightly less stringent but mass events are still banned so celebrations will be smaller scale this year.
