A clothing store is closing its doors after nine years of operating in a mid Suffolk town.

Molls and Dolls Boutique, in Station Road West in Stowmarket, announced the "difficult decision" on social media yesterday. 

The fashion store opened in the town nine years ago to provide some top brands locally.

A statement on the business' social media page said: "It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the closure of Molls & Dolls Boutique.

"In light of the current financial climate, rising cost of living, and changing consumer habits, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors.

"Over the last nine years, we have been incredibly fortunate to have had the pleasure of getting to know so many people and we want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for your support, loyalty, and friendship throughout this journey.

"While this news may come as a disappointment, please know that it was not made lightly. We have cherished every moment spent with our customers. The memories we've shared and the relationships we've built will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

"While this chapter may be coming to an end, the bonds we've formed with many will endure. As we navigate this transition we want to assure you that our commitment to provide exceptional service remains unwavering.

"Once again, thank you for your support, understanding, and friendship. It has been an honour to be part of your lives."

A closing down sale has started at the store with customers being encouraged to spend gift vouchers and credit notes as all stock must go. 

The business has not announced an official closing date for the store.
