Roadworks projects look set to cause disruption for drivers again in Suffolk in 2024. 

Here are five sets that are taking place in the forthcoming year. 

1. The Street, Aldham 

The Street in Aldham will remain closed until the middle of February after the road collapsed. 

Suffolk Highways first installed an emergency road closure on November 20, but confirmed the road is to remain closed "for the next few months"

According to one.network, the road is expected to reopen by February 16. 

2. Gleneagles Drive, Ipswich

Gleneagles Drive in Ipswich will be shut in January owing to works by Suffolk County Council. 

The road will be closed between Monday, January 22, and Friday, January 26, for resurfacing. 

A diversion route will be in place while repairs are carried out.

3. A14 roadworks Haughley to Tot Hill 

The A14 roadworks between Haughley and Tot Hill will be continuing in 2024.

Having started in early 2023, the £37million scheme in mid Suffolk is to be completed by summer 2024. 

4. Grove Hill, Belstead 

Grove Hill in Belstead will remain shut until March following roadworks which first started in July. 

Anglian Water has been carrying out repairs in the village, just outside of Ipswich, since the summer. 

The road will remain closed until March 26, 2024.

5. Tavern Street, Stowmarket

Tavern Street in Stowmarket is expected to be closed for 11 days for works being completed by Cadent. 

According to one.network, the road will be shut between March 11 and March 22.
