We've made it through the summer and now winter seems to be just round the corner.

However, there's still plenty to do in Suffolk for the remainder of 2022, with exciting events planned across the county.

Here are just seven major events still to come in 2022...

Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival

The Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival is now in its 17th year and will bring together more than 100 Suffolk producers on the weekend of September 24 to 25.

The event is dedicated to supporting and promoting the immediate area and food-related businesses within it, and festival organisers work year-round to provide publicity for Suffolk food producers, farmers, farm shops, restaurants, chefs and businesses.

Illuminated Garden Trail, Helmingham Hall

From Friday, November 18, Helmingham Hall will once again be transformed into a spectacular light display.

The Illuminated Garden Trail is a great way to kick off the festive season and there are even fire pits for toasting marshmallows for s'mores.

Scaresville

In October, Scaresville will return to Kentwell Hall.

The spooky trail is sure to get the heart pumping as visitors work their way around one of Suffolk's most haunting experiences.

Framlingham Sausage Festival

The Framlingham Sausage Festival is a much-loved event in the town and foodies need to add this one to their to-do list.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 9 and single tickets are £6.

Lavenham Literary Festival

From November 18 to 20, the hugely popular Lavenham Literary Festival will return to this historic village.

This year's speakers include Lady Colin Campbell, Wendy Cope and Kate Sawyer among many other fascinating guests.

Oktoberfests

This Bavarian tradition continues to gain popularity in Suffolk, with many towns and villages engaging in the celebration in the coming months.

One of the largest events will be taking place in Lowestoft at the East Point Pavilion.

Christmas markets

There's nothing quite like a Christmas market for getting you in the mood for the festive season.

Most towns in the county regularly have an abundance of stalls, traders and food vendors lining their streets, with Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich being particularly well known for their festivities.

The county's best-known Christmas Fayre, in Bury St Edmunds, has been replaced with five days of festive events from November 23 to 27.
