Ipswich Town forgotten man Paul Taylor insists Blackburn Rovers is the place he wants to be, labelling the Lancashire club the biggest he has been at.
Out of favour with Mick McCarthy and with his contract due to expire in the summer, the 27-year-old is keen to get fixed up with a new club having been told he will never play for the Blues under the Blues boss’ management again.
“I just want to get started playing football,” said the 27-year-old, who spent two months at Rotherham earlier in the season, on the Blackburn website.
“I haven’t played a competitive game for two months now, so now I’ve got the opportunity to play football and express myself.
“I’ve been doing a lot of training and a lot of running, but it isn’t anything like match fitness, so as soon as I start playing the better.
“I’ll try my hardest here at Blackburn, hopefully catch the eye of the gaffer and staff and hopefully get a contract in the summer.
“This is the biggest club I’ve been to with the history and everything about it. The facilities, the training ground facilities, everything is just brilliant. It is the club that I want to be with.”
Taylor has scored one goal in 25 appearances for Town since being signed by Paul Jewell for £1.5m in the summer of 2012.
The striker will not be eligible to play against his parent club at Ewood Park on the final day of the season, Saturday, May 2.
