Retired Colonel John Ogden is only the second person to take up the voluntary role –which hopes to strengthen links between communities and the armed forces – after it was created back in October 2012.
He takes over from Colonel (Retired) Rae Leighton who helped to champion a number of projects and establish the covenant board whilst in the position.
“Having served 5 years as Suffolk’s Armed Forces Commissioner, it’s now time to bow out and pass the baton.
“In doing so, I wish John Ogden the same satisfaction as I have experienced” said Colonel (Retired) Leighton.
Colonel Ogden retired last year after 34 years in the British Army and brings great experience to his new role.
He said: “I’m looking forward to learning about our military units, our veterans charities and the broader community.”
