Police fear sheep killers who have already struck twice in Suffolk are still operating after discovering a suspicious bag.
Officers recovered the bag containing equipment linked to slaughtering near a flock of sheep in Tattingstone on Monday.
Suffolk Constabulary believes this is connected to two attacks in the county.
On December 23, the remains of a sheep was found by its owner near a steam in Sproughton with the carcass gone.
The second incident happened between February 21 and February 22 in a field off Berners Lane, near Chelmondiston.
The throats of three sheep were cut, their carcasses were stolen and their remains were left in a small wooded area next to the field.
Police have warned farmers to be vigilant and asked members of the public living near sheep to report anything out of the ordinary.
A spokesman added: “Members of the public should also be mindful of being offered meat for sale in suspicious circumstances.”
To report anything suspicious contact Suffolk Constabulary on 101.
