Man pinned to ground and restrained with cable ties by robbers in Stowmarket home

A man who returned to his home in Stowmarket last night was pinned to the ground by robbers using cable ties before cash and jewellery were stolen.

Police have tonight released details of the incident which took place in Chaffinch Way last night.

Robbers pounced on a man aged in his 30s as he returned home at around 11pm, used cable ties to help pin him to the ground, and then stole cash and jewellery and ran off.

Police are investigating and have issued a description of the suspects.

In a statement, Suffolk Constabulary said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Stowmarket that took place late last night (Thursday 22 June).

“The male victim, aged in his 30s had just returned to his home address in Chaffinch Way just before 11pm when he was set upon by three males as he went into the property. The three offenders pinned him to the ground, using cable ties to restrain him and stole a large quantity of money and jewellery before fleeing the scene.

“The suspects were all described as wearing black hooded tops and black cargo trousers.

“Enquiries into the incident are continuing and anyone who has any information, saw an suspicious activity around the time of the incident should contact Western Area CID on 101 quote reference 37/43545/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
