A motorist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash between a car and a tractor in Fressingfield this morning.

Suffolk police officers were called to the B1116 at around 8.10am, where a Land Rover Freelander and tractor had been involved in a collision.

A police spokesman said that the female driver of the car had been taken to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by air ambulance.

The B1116 was closed in both directions for much of the day between the Mill Lane and Cratfield Road junctions while an investigation got underway but was repoened at 3.43pm.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has any information which may help officers to contact 101 quoting CAD 61 of today.
