A much-loved café at a country estate is getting ready to reopen after an eight-month closure.

When Helmingham Hall Gardens closed for the winter season in September, it meant on-site business Wrights Café also had to shut

The estate is reopening for the summer season on Wednesday, May 1 along with the café.

In a social media post, Wrights Café said: "In less than two months we will be reopening our Helmingham Hall site.

"We have so much planned for the summer with exciting events and cannot wait to get back to the wonderful surroundings of Helmingham."

It comes as Helmingham Hall announced a series of anticipated events including a new garden exhibition.

Throughout the season the garden will host a collection of large-scale sculptures in copper, bronze, stone and steel curated by David Harber.

A spokeswoman for the estate said: "Each piece has been carefully selected by the team at David Harber in collaboration with Sophie Tollemache from Helmingham Hall to reflect and enhance specific areas of the garden.

"From Geminus, and elaborate Verdigris bronze finished with gold lead that will sit in the Knot Garden to the convex curves of polished steel Torus, the visitor experience will be amplified with new perspectives and the relationship between each sculpture and its location."

In various dates through the summer months Helmingham Hall will be open for Midsummer Nights for visitors to soak up 'golden hour' and experience twilight at the estate.

The season ends with the annual and nationally acclaimed Illuminated Garden Trail – which returns on Friday, December 15.
