1. A14 roadworks will finally be completed

Let's get the easy one out of the way, shall we?

While the outcome will prove to be a benefit for Suffolk drivers, the A14 roadworks in mid Suffolk have been an immense frustration for day-to-day users.

The Haughley to Tot Hill reconstruction scheme started in early 2023, and is set to cost National Highways £37million.

It reached the halfway stage in October, but is not set to completed until the end of summer 2024.

2. Primark opening in Bury St Edmunds

The highly-anticipated opening of Primark in Bury St Edmunds will take place in 2024.

Plans were given the go-ahead for the fashion retailers to open in the arc Shopping Centre, inside the former Debenhams, in November 2022.

There had been hopes it would open by the end of 2023, however it is now set to open in March 2024.
